What is your fantasy? Do you dream of being a vampire or a witch with magical powers? Many of us thoroughly enjoy the escapism that comes from reading fantasy novels, such as the Harry Potter series or the Twilight series of books. Thinking about fantasy topics helps us to dream outside of the regular parameters, which is fun and helps us get in touch with our creativity. If you are a doll collector, you can stoke your fantasy side with a collection of fantasy dolls and fairy dolls. Fantasy collectibles are hot right now, and there is a great selection available.
There are many gorgeous fairy dolls around which you could create several different types of collections. Nene Thomas is a designer of these dolls. One well-known feature from Thomas' line is the dolls' wings, which are multiple and highly detailed and outlined, rather like butterfly wings. The next attraction is the clothing with which they are adorned. The full-length gowns that these fairies wear are beautifully handcrafted.
Jasmine Becket-Griffith is another designer, and she offers dolls with distinctive eyes. The eyes are large, and deeply hued, and the outfits are color-coordinated to complement them. The dolls of creator Sandra Bilotto sit on a beautiful crescent moon. The her signature edition doll has turquoise, blue and purple coloration, and her dress is in layers of blues with hemline detailing.
Crafter Kris Hamrick's dolls are distinctive in that the wings are uniquely shaped. They are multiple, and look a bit like feathers, in a golden hue to match the doll's stunning long blonde hair. Artist Carol McBride has created the smallest of dolls in her Teaspoon fairies line. These figurines fit on a teaspoon, and have attractive and detailed tiny wings.
Gothic and vampire fantasy dolls are another popular theme in collectibles. There are vampire dolls that come with interchangeable faceplates, so that you can dramatically alter the appearance of the doll, which stands sixteen inches tall. Fully posable dolls make it easy for you to display them as you wish.
Sherrilyn Kenyon is the designer of a Dark Hunter doll, which features large black feathery wings, and a plaid outfit with knee-high heeled boots. Delilah Noir is another vampire fairy line of dolls that have long black hair with thick bangs, as well as black clothing, but with red accents at the mouth and in accessories.
